Little Acorn
This is hands down our favourite children's CD, and our 3-year-old echos the sentiment. It's our 'go-to' CD for when we need a soothing reprieve.
We're certain you will find the same pleasure in it as our family has! Leah's voice is so soft and beautiful, and she sings many of the classics that we grew up with, along with some of her own compositions.
Leah Salomaa is a Toronto based singer and performer. Named in Chatelaine Magazine as one of Canada's leading children's performers, she has released three family oriented cds:
"I LIKE TO RISE", "FATHER SUN and MOTHER MOON", and the brand new holiday CD:
"UNDER A WINTER STAR".
Please see a review of her newest Holiday CD from CITY PARENT:
Under a Winter Star — Toronto’s Salomaa specializes in recordings aimed at families, not just kids. I was able to test out her new holiday CD in the perfect setting: a weekend in a house overflowing with three generations. The kids perked up for her lively versions of “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” I think her first track, “The Holly and the Ivy,” is one of the purest versions of that song I’ve heard. But the hands-down favourite was the Welsh traditional tune “All Through the Night,” which Salomaa performs with simple, sweet vocals and lush harmonies. If you’re in need of a new holiday record like we were, this one is the perfect choice.
